We started Journee because we believe imagination is a child’s greatest advantage, and it’s under constant pressure from screens, schedules, and endless content. So we built an alternative that kids actually want, stories that pull them in and keep them there.
Every Journee adventure is crafted around your child, with their world, their interests, and their choices woven into the plot. It’s screen-free by design, tactile on purpose, and built to make reading feel like an adventure, not homework.

Journee delivers personalized adventure letters straight to your child’s mailbox. Each letter turns your child into the hero of their very own story - whether it’s a wizarding school, a journey around the world in a historic, or an exciting space mission. Every delivery sparks anticipation and joy, helping your child discover the wonder of real mail and the excitement of new adventures, all while building confidence and imagination away from screens.
Getting started is easy and full of wonder! Choose a story theme and tell us about your child's interests, favorite things, and important milestones. Journee then customizes a magical adventure where your child takes center stage, along with friends, family members, and special details from their real life. Every two weeks (or on a schedule you choose), a beautifully crafted letter arrives, inviting your child into a new chapter and giving your family a screen-free ritual to enjoy together.
From the very first envelope, the story is written around your child. We weave in their name (or nickname), favourite themes, and milestones (birthdays, first day at school, new sibling) so the plot feels naturally theirs. You can add siblings or friends as sidekicks, choose a world (or rotate across worlds), and we tune length, vocabulary and prompts to their reading stage. Prefer cozy, gentle adventures? Tell us and we’ll keep the tone soft and reassuring.
Between chapters you can update details anytime - new interests, different difficulty, a theme switch, even cosmetic touches like wax-seal colour or a keepsake upgrade. Changes made before our next mailing cut-off flow straight into the very next letter; later updates roll to the following one.
Your child also shapes the plot: simple choices via your account determine what happens next, and the next letter reflects their decision - confidence-boosting agency without screens.
We only collect the minimum information needed to personalise the story, never sell data, and you can view or delete details at any time. In short: it’s their world, continuously tailored as they grow - while you stay in control with pause/skip options whenever life gets busy.
Absolutely! Journee makes a truly special gift for birthdays, holidays, or any time you want to surprise a child you love. You can personalize the adventure just as you would for your own child, even including a special note with the first letter. It's a unique gift that brings joy and wonder with every delivery. We will ask you at the start if the letters are for your own kid or someone else's and based on this we include a card with the first letter that explains how to transfer control of the story to someone else.
Yes, but only as part of a letter purchase/subscription and it will include the same story as the letter itself. It's available as an Addo-on in the checkout. Just add it to your purchase an we will provide a professional sounding audio chapter with each letter.

Each story is carefully crafted with your child's age in mind. We adjust vocabulary and sentence length so the story is fun, clear, and never overwhelming. As your child grows, we adapt the style to keep it just right. If you'd like the language changed to suit your child better, simply let us know - we're always happy to help.
Journee adventures are perfect for children ages 4-12. We adjust story complexity and themes to your child's age and reading level, so every letter is just right for them. Some stories are more tailored to younger or older audience and are marked as such during the story creation process.
Journee works well for kids who find reading hard because it removes the two biggest blockers: low motivation and high friction.
- High motivation: the child is the hero. Familiar names, interests, and ongoing cliffhangers make them want to continue, which is the real lever for practice.
- Low friction: short letter chapters, clear language, and a controlled pace. It feels achievable, not like “doing reading”.
- Flexible by default: we can dial vocabulary up or down, slow the story pace, add more repetition, or keep sentences shorter, based on what your child needs.
- Multi-format support: we’re building audio and interactive options so kids can start with listening, then transition into reading when they’re ready.
